Akira Maeda (前田日明, Maeda Akira) is a real-life professional wrestler famed for his capture suplex technique. He is also credited with establishing "shoot style" professional wrestling during the late 1980s. His interest in martial arts developed as a child while watching the Ultraman television series, and upon attending high school, Maeda's only interests were motorcycles and karate. He appears as a character in Super Fire Prowrestling Special. The game's protagonist falls in love with Maeda's sister, however her spurning him results in his suicide.
